A Study on Pre-service English Instructors' Cyberloafing Behaviors During Online Courses

Student cyberloafing is a concept that has been mainly investigated in face-to-face educational settings and there are only few studies concentrate on this issue online settings. Therefore, to contribute the existing line of literature respect, current study sought explore types activities students engage with during classes, their reasons behind these behaviours, views possible solutions prevent these. The sample consisted 68 preservice English teachers from foundation university Central Anatolia, Turkey. A qualitative survey research design was adopted end, data were collected using an instrument included demographic information form three questions related questions. To seek answers questions, analysed thematic analysis. results showed engaged wide variety activities. Moreover, emerging themes respect for instructor, student, course-content, learning environment, technology-related whereas regarding it institution-based solutions.
